What happened to the Joy of ResurrectionI wonder what has happened to the joy of Resurrection in today's world where everyone lives “as if nothing had happened”, as if this Jesus of Nazareth who came to “give us life”, who with His triumph over death has shown us the real sense of our life, was not someone present, real. As opposed to the joy of new Life which has been given to us since Easter, we go on looking for “excuses” in order to attack life, to allow the killing of innocent children by means of what we disguise by the name of “abortion” through laws, all kinds of actuations and propositions, etc., or we discuss if it is acceptable or not for us men to decide when someone is going to die, or we go on encouraging wars so certain ideologies may be justified. While we go on arguing without understanding that Life is a natural and valuable right, that no one is the owner of his life, and even much less the life of others, we will be living in a “mediocre”, “selfish” world, diverted from its true meaning.A week ago we started the celebration of Easter Time, since Easter is not just a single day, but a whole Time where we are invited to reflect on our Faith. I wonder what has happened to the joy of Resurrection in today's world where everyone lives “as if nothing had happened”, as if this Jesus of Nazareth who came to “give us life”, who with His triumph over death has shown us the real sense of our life, was not someone present, real. For those of us who have Faith, transmitting this joy of resurrection to others is still a commitment so the world may believe we have been “returned to life” and that it has not been left in the “shadows of death”. There is no doubt there are many reasons which in this Easter Time must invite us to reflection, in which we are reminded that human life is very valuable, up to the point that God Himself became man, and furthermore gave His life in order to later rise and thus give us the chance of reaching ourselves this “everlasting” life. While we go on arguing without understanding that Life is a natural and valuable right, that no one is the owner of his life, and even much less the life of others, we will be living in a “mediocre”, “selfish” world, diverted from its true meaning. While societies go on forgetting that their main raison d'être is the concern for those who are most in need, for those who are more “sick”, for those who are helpless and thus need of others “to live”, while we go on forgetting all this we will go on being ill, “incomplete” societies and will not find the true sense Human beings put in this world must have. While Man is not set up as the real center of every social, political, economical, etc. activity we certainly will be far from “seriously” being a true society like the one I gess we all have in mind. In order to become real, the joy of Jesus' resurrection must make us understand that He gave His Life so we too have this same Life, and while we don't stop thinking we can manipulate this Life ourselves, not allowing that each and every one may fully develop, we may be certain that we will be far away from finding the meaning of our own lifes, and even more so, of understanding the sense of Jesus' Resurrection.
