"God created man so he could aspire to the plenitude of dignity and of truth"Father Oscar asked not to mix up the irruption of Evil in man with his true qualities, which are will, effort, conscience, improvement, and holiness. "God made man so intellect could be human, and he made him able to search truth and depth", he held.Buenos Aires, Sunday, March 30, 2003.- Father Oscar Pezzarini, in charge of the weekly comment in "La Manga", Fr. Julio Grassi's radio program (Radio Rivadavia -AM 630 kHz- Sundays from 2 to 5 a.m.) recalled tonight that "when Jesus assumes the human nature he does so to return the original dignity to man, who was created by God so he could aspire in plenitude to dignity, to respect, to truth, and to life". "When someone shows a certain weakness or a fault, or has wrong attitudes among other situations, most certainly people will say “he is very human”. They always refer to “human” as something pertining to man. But this means to give us the wrong view of man. What is really human, as God created man, is will, effort, conscience, improvement and holiness. All else is fruit of the irruption of Evil in man." "God created man so intellect could be human, and he made him able to search truth and depth. He also gave him the will to fight, courage, and the capacity to feel hope", said the General Commissioner of the Work of Don Orione. "Our conscience also is human because it prevents us from deceiving ourselves." "We are living times of world upheaval. As mankind we are bombed by war, and here in Argentina we start to be bombed by ideas, proposals, and aggressions among candidates to the elections which are due in less than one month." "All this is justified as pertaining to man, as “human”. We end up justifying attitudes which we need to condemn, as for instance a world leader justifying his actions by lies, or a leader who lies to us or who makes promises he will never honour after the elections. Do not be fooled, this is not “human”, it is the human deficiency which is the result of sin", said Father Oscar. "It's up to us the take the chance to see and to try to wake up once and for all, to decide we want to be and to live like human beings, that is, in the image of God, with intelligence to know the truth and with will to act according to her, to know her, and to profess her." "We cannot be happy thinking that our errors or weaknesses are there “because we are human”. When Jesus assumes the human nature he does so to return the original dignity to man, who was created by God so he could aspire in plenitude to dignity, to respect, to truth, and to life." "May God want us to restart in both our homeland and in the whole world to realize which is our true place in the world, and that we may follow Him", reflected Father Oscar Pezzarini at the ending.
