Charitable Works > Ciudad del Niño Don Bosco > Ciudad del Niño Don Bosco Treatment Units
FEATURES:Since February 1994, the Building for Infants has been recreating the organization of a family environment while reflecting the professionalism of a team of psychologists, social workers, assistants, nurses and physical therapists, all of them working for the little ones and establishing strong bonds of affection.
The center provides assistance to children from newborns to toddlers to 5-year-olds, trying to heal the effect of horror stories closely connected with violence and neglect. These children are referred by the courts. Some are the victims of neglect by their parents, who abandoned them in a plot of land or even at the very doorstep of the Foundation. The smallest children at San Nicolas receive all the maternal care they need. Three to 5 year-olds attend the Foundation's Kindergarten a few meters from there for full-day classes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
FEATURES:Juanito Bosco and Santa María Goretti Homes for Siblings provide assistance to groups of siblings. The first center opened in December 1994 and the second one in July 1999. The Foundation seeks to preserve siblings' bonds and favor their socialization.
FEATURES:San Juan Bosco Home provides comprehensive assistance to young males between 16 and 21 years old. As in every Ciudad del Niño Don Bosco Home, all children receive formal education.
This building was opened on December 22, 1994..

![]() Teenage mothers of the Beata Laura Vicuña Nursery |
The reality of teenage pregnancy and motherhood is not excluded from the assistance provided by Felices los Niños Foundation to the most needy ones. That is why, on March 1, 1996, the Beata Laura Acuña Nursery was opened to serve these people. The center required enlargement in January 1998 as a consequence of an incessant flow of pregnant teenagers. Its origin responded to a request from the Provincial Council for Minors to face and solve a very complex reality.
The institution lodges adolescent -or pregnant- mothers aged 15 to 21 together with their children – newborns, toddlers and children up to 7 years of age.
These young women are trained at the Sewing Workshop.
