El Buen Pastor Day Care Center

Since October 2000 the Felices los Niños Foundation is present in the town of Coronel Du Graty, Chaco province, at the El Buen Pastor Day Care Center. Coronel Du Graty is a town of about 13 thousand inhabitants affected by the consequences of the labor instability of seasonal workers. The nearest town, Villa Angela, is some 16 miles away, and Resistencia, the provincial capital city, at a distance of 300 km (about 188 mi).

Originally the Home was located at an old abandoned railway station, but in April 2003 it moved to its new facilities, which were built with great effort.

As it is the case with all the Foundation’s centers, the Home is open to all creeds, which is attested to by the 13-odd creeds and churches the children belong to. Most of them are immigrants. The Coronel Du Graty's community is very sympathetic and regularly cooperates with the Home. El Buen Pastor provides assistance to children from infants to 16 year olds.

Lunch time

The El Buen Pastor Home is open from Monday through Saturday, during out-of-school hours. A series of workshops are run on Handicrafts, Loom Weaving and Vegetable Garden Tending. Sports activities are held at a small soccer field on the premises.

A group of youngsters from the nearby Asunción de María Parish Church is in charge of religious instruction.
