Virgencita de Luján Treatment Unit

FEATURES:

The Virgencita de Luján Home for Siblings is located in the General Rodríguez District. It has been in operation since September 11^th 2000. The children living at the home are between 2 and 14 years old and are admitted through the referral of the courts. The home’s special feature is that it is for groups of siblings.

They spend their time at work...

The Virgencita de Luján’s children get schooling at schools in the area. They also belong to the infants’ missionary group at the nearby Inmaculada Concepción Parish Church.

On Saturdays they attend the “Life in the Outdoors” Program at the Gral. Rodríguez sports complex, where the oldest also play soccer. Sunday’s visits are arranged to the Benvenuto Old People’s Home.

Besides from these activities, the professional team that assists the children organizes many more such as workshops

on Vegetable Gardening, Plastic Arts, Games, Gym, Sports and Puppet Shows.

Santo Domingo Savio Day Care Center

FEATURES:

Within the General Rodríguez District is the town of La Fraternidad, 54 km (about 34 mi) away from Buenos Aires city on Route 5 (former Route 7), where the Santo Domingo Savio Day Care Center is situated. It has been in operation since January 7^th 2002.

The home, two blocks away from La Fraternidad railway station, is open to the needy children in the General Rodríguez District Monday through Saturday. The children are between 4 and 15 years old.

It provides meals (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack), remedial teaching and recreational activities. On Mondays dinner is also given, known as “Sto. Domingo Savio’s Friends”.

Children participate in workshops on Vegetable Gardening, Drama and Drawing. They also get religious instruction and on Sundays they attend mass at the nearby Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Chapel.
